Partnership Challenge

And the clock is ticking! We have until Sunday, May 20th to complete the challenge of having 30 people commit to invest  $30 per month all within 30 days. We have been praying for God to bring this team of financial partners together who will, alongside us, help to share the message of Hope with the Togolese in West Africa. If you or someone you know would be interested in joining with us just let us know!

In the past month we have had a great time getting to know more fellow believers in our area, hearing their heart for missions, and really being able to pray with them and for them.  It's so encouraging to know that God has people all over the world that are being used in awesome ways to serve Him.  We were also excited and challenged as we attended a training on how to share the Gospel with Muslims.  We are praying for opportunities here in the States to share our faith with those who have embraced Islam.

I've been waiting for months -months, I say- for Silas to start walking.  For one thing it gives me comfort to know he is developmentally on track and for another he's heavy.  I'm tired of carrying him around everywhere.  He started standing, pulling up and "cruising" long before other kids usually do, but that didn't seem to make any difference.  No matter what we tried he would not walk.  Finally, late last week he just stood up and took off.  First walking a bit, and within a few minutes he was even running some.  He was laughing and giggling the whole time.  He was 16 months old, and I thought (and probably said out loud) "FINALLY!".  He walks, and he is really pretty good at it.  Much better than most babies who are beginning walkers.  I asked Andy about it and he said, "He's been watching others, and just waiting until he thought he had the skills."  Such a good reminder of all involved in this "pre-field" part of my life.  I so want to rush to Togo and start doing stuff, but I doubt that I would do much of it very well or effectively without the preparation time God is giving me.  I am grateful for the reminder to wait patiently as God prepares me in His timing for the work He's called us to do.

March Madness

"So, when do you plan on leaving for Africa?"

A common question posed to us, and it's a loaded one.  But simply put,

So, this is Pre-field

One of the many things we've been looking forward to while in our pre-field ministry is the travel. Up to this point, we've mainly been meeting with individuals and families close to home base (Evansville).
Saturday we traveled to Nashville, TN.  Great trip!  We met with an amazing family, on fire for the Lord, and so encouraging to hang out with.  After an adventurous night in a hotel room for the first time as a family of four (Nora got her very own queen size bed to sleep in, and Silas was so excited to be in the same room with everyone he couldn't stay asleep for more than a couple of hours), we worshipped with Metro Baptist...great service! On the way home we stopped by some friends in Bowling Green, KY for the afternoon, went to church with them and headed home.
And so we go to work during the week, then back on the road this weekend to Ohio Calvary M.B.C. to present the work we'll doing in Togo.  Yeah, sure it can get tiring, tedious, and stir up feelings of "Why are we doing this again?"  So, pray for us -- safety, ministry to those with whom we meet, and that our family is strengthened in faith and in love through it all!
Would you like to be part of our road trip?  Let us share with you how you can be part of what God is doing in West Africa!
Check out this great video Amanda put together with very minimal input from Andy!

Stories and photos and bissap, oh my!

Wow!  What an incredible opportunity we had over the last few weeks.  Getting to Togo was cake compared to the travel within.

We have continued to meet with individuals, some of which have chosen to partner with us financially.  Given the commited response from the individuals we have met with our current monthly support stands at 16%!  It has been a true blessing to meet with families and churches and hear their heart for God and their passion for missions.  We are so grateful that God has given us supporters that truly desire the Hope of the Gospel be sent through us to the Togolese, and we trust that they are continually lifting us up in prayer.  This month has been joyous as we have watched God faithfully work in our lives.

We're traveling around sharing our vision of ministry with churches and indivduals.  Can we visit you?
